About the Priscilla Circle
Priscilla (also know as ‘prisca’) was the wife of Aquila and is remembered as a staunch supporter of the Apostle Paul. When Priscilla chose to marry Aquila, a former Jewish slave, she had undoubtedly shocked her wealthy Roman family.

Priscilla and Aquila, as Jews, had been expelled from Rome under the Emperor Claudius and were living at Corinth when Paul met them. They worked together earning their living as tentmakers and organizing the church of Corinth. They accompanied Paul to Ephesus and stayed there when Paul traveled to Jerusalem.

Priscilla was a mature leader of the early Christian Church. She showed herself to be a person of exceptional tact and maturity when she corrected some of the errors in the preaching of the brilliant young Apollos. The church in Ephesus met together in her house. After the riots against the Christians, Priscilla and Aquila moved to Rome and then eventually back to Ephesus. Priscilla was more highly regarded than her husband was in scripture (her name precedes his in four out of six references to them) but both were regarded highly as Christian missionaries. With Paul, Priscilla and Aquila established three churches, in Rome, Corinth and Ephesus.
